Brooke Bite: When Everything is Falling Apart

Book and Bench

This Week's Pondering:

Q: What can we do when everything is falling apart?

A: I’m entering a new phase in life. While things aren’t quite “falling apart” nothing is certain. My house is on the market, and I’m not sure what I’ll do when it sells. I’ve recently left a long-term relationship. My youngest kiddo will be graduating from high school next year. There’s a lot of heartache in each of these events, and as life seems to do, it’s happening all at once.

My mind wants to create solutions.

My heart wants to mourn.

My higher self says, “Just watch.”

When there is no fix to the things I’m facing, I’ve learned to do two things:

  • Rest. Naps are the most important thing and will eventually initiate curiosity which will stimulate action, naturally.

  • Take the only obvious step there is to take (pay the bill, sign the contract, go to work, read the book, interact with my people)

I would love to hear from you, too! What do you do when it seems everything is falling apart?
